115 years since Petrus Brovka’s birthday

June 25 marks 115 years since the birthday of the national poet of Belarus Petrus Brovka. A number of events are timed to the event. The poet was born in the Vitebsk region, wrote his first poem at the age of 19, and soon after that he moved to Minsk and entered the Belarusian State University, Department of Literature and Linguistics. During WWII Petrus Brovka went to the front as a volunteer, worked as correspondent for military newspapers. Among the most famous poems by Petrus Brovka are "The Smell Of Thyme", "Please", "Alexandryna", "Nadzia-Nadzeyka".
