Victoria Azarenka started with a confident victory over the World's #8 Paula Badosa at the Adelaide tournament. The winner's pot of the competition boasts 700 thousand dollars. We remind you, that the Belarusian player is number 27 in the WTA ratings, yet it was she who dominated the today's match. The Spanish player won two games at Victoria's serves, but Azarenka responded with three breaks – 6:3. She played even more convincingly in the second set – 6:2. In the second round, Azarenka will compete with World's #263 Priscilla Hon of Australia. The latter got into the main list via qualification and sensationally defeated Petra Kvitova in the first round.
