State support for Belarusian Paralympians
Winners and prize-winners of the winter games "We are together. Sports", which were held in March in Khanty-Mansiysk, expect prize money. The President signed a decree providing for financial incentives for athletes who have achieved high results in these competitions. Prize money for gold will amount to 64 thousand Belarusian rubles, for silver – 38 thousand 400 Belarusian rubles, and for bronze – 25 thousand 600 Belarusian rubles. In addition, remuneration is provided for personal trainers, coaches who provided sports training for medalists in the early stages, as well as coaches and specialists of the national team. The competitions in Khanty-Mansiysk became an alternative to the Paralympic Games, from which our team and the Russian team were groundlessly suspended, having announced this decision at a time when the athletes were already in Beijing and were preparing for the first starts. At the games in Khanty-Mansiysk Belarusians won 16 awards, including 5 gold, 2 silver and 9 bronze.
