Belarus tennis players score first victories at US Open
All Belarusian tennis players won their first matches at the US Open. In women's singles, Aryna Sabalenka faced Catherine Harrison from USA. The leader of the national team left no chance to her opponent: 6-1, 6-3. Aryna's next opponent will be Estonia’s Kaia Kanepi. Aliaksandra Sasnovich also confidently defeated Elisabetta Cocciaretto from Italy: 6-2, 6-4. In the second round, the Belarusian will play with Jessica Pegula. Ex-first racket of the world Victoria Azarenka defeated another American Ashlyn Krueger in 109 minutes: 6-1, 4-6, 6-2. In the round of last 64 Azarenka will face Ukrainian Marta Kostyuk. In the men's singles, Ilya Ivashka beat Sam Querrey in four sets: 4-6, 6-4, 7-6, 6-3. In the second round Ivashka will face world number 10 Hubert Hurkacz from Poland.
