The heads of the General Staff of the CSTO Armed Forces discussed the military and political situation in the region
The meeting was held in the format of a videoconference. Belarus was represented by the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, First Deputy Defense Minister, Major General Pavel Muraveiko informed the meeting participants about the challenges and threats in the Eastern European region. The parties discussed the priority areas of the CSTO's military activities proposed by Russia for the period of its chairmanship in the Organization in 2026. The results of the joint training of the management bodies and formations of the forces and means of the CSTO collective security system in 2025 were also summed up, and tasks for 2026 were announced. The participants of the videoconference discussed the experience and practice of the participation of the Kazakh army in the UN Disengagement Observer Force mission.
