The 16th century Belarusian ritual of "Brotherly Candle" has been revived in the Mogilev Oblast
06.04.2026
For Orthodox Easter, parishioners make wax candles 2 meters high. They are blessed during the festive service and used throughout the year. According to legend, the candle's flame is considered a talisman against disease and drought, and also promotes a good harvest. Travelers from all over Belarus come to see these unique candles. The Holy Trinity Church is a popular religious tourism destination in the Kruglyansky District. Tourists are drawn to the church's history. Almost all of its icons were painted by Belarusian artists Aleksandr Roshchinov and Larisa Zhuravovich. And the bright red velvet iconostasis installed here is the only one in Belarus.
