Senators reviewed a number of bills during the fourth session of the Council of the Republic. The agenda included 17 issues, some of which concerned innovations that would allow Belarus to strengthen its position in relations with friendly countries and integration associations. Specifically, the discussions included the abolition of double taxation with Jordan, simplification of cooperation with Oman in road transport, and visa abolition with Myanmar. Another important innovation: a free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union and Indonesia. A number of agreements on labor migration and law enforcement cooperation were submitted for approval. For example, an agreement with Pakistan will help create a transparent system for monitoring labor migration. An agreement between law enforcement agencies within the CIS is aimed at combating transnational crime.
