I. Sergeenko: Energy workers create the foundation of the national economy

Energy workers create the foundation of the national economy, the basis for the development of all industrial sectors, noted Igor Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives, at a meeting with the staff of the Belenergo State Production Association. The meeting took place on the eve of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Belarusian energy system. The official founding date is considered to be 15 May, 1931. Since then, it has evolved into a modern, high-tech complex, comprising dozens of high-pressure stations, hundreds of thousands of kilometers of energy networks and a nuclear power plant.
