A portrait of a military paramedic will appear on the facade of the Gomel Medical College
18.06.2026
The girl went to the front in 1941, immediately after graduation. As part of the medical battalion of the 199th Infantry Division, she participated in the liberation of Belarus, Poland and the Berlin offensive. She donated blood 35 times as a donor for patients. Paramedic Maria Garachuk became one of six Belarusian nurses awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal. The project was dedicated to the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Large-scale graffiti consists of two semantic parts: next to the portrait of Maria Garachuk, a collective image of a frontline medic will also appear - as a symbol of mercy and dedication. The art object is scheduled to open on 2 July
