82 years ago, the Red Army troops liberated the prisoners of the Ozarichi death camp
19.03.2026
The Wehrmacht put up a human shield at the forefront of the defense. 50.000 old people, women and children were driven into the swamps. People were in the open air in a 15-degree frost, without food, water and warm clothes. The prisoners were infected with typhus. Their average life expectancy was three days. It was planned that the use of bacteriological weapons would stop the advance of the Soviet troops. The creation of the Ozarichi death camps has been called the Wehrmacht biggest crime during the war. In total, the Nazis created more than 260 concentration camps in the country. After 82 years, Belarus remembers the innocent victims of Nazism and will not allow the falsification of history. A requiem rally was held on the territory of the Ozarichi Memorial complex in memory of the victims.
