There are over 1.7 million young citizens in Belarus — that's one in five residents. Protecting children's rights and interests is a constant priority of Belarus's social policy, and it also contributes to improving the country's demographic situation. The state supports children from the very first days of life. In addition to accessible education, culture and sports, a robust pediatric care system has been built: 16 maternity hospitals and perinatal centres 30 children's hospitals and over 4.000 practicing pediatricians provide care to children.
