Lukashenko presents Union State literature, art awards at Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk

During the opening ceremony of the international art festival Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented prizes of the Union State of Belarus and Russia for literature and art for 2023-2024 to people, who had made a significant contribution to the reinforcement of friendship between the peoples of Belarus and Russia.
The Union State prizes for literature and art for 2023-2024 were awarded at a session of the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in January 2024.
One of the prizes went to the team of authors made up of Chief Architect of Belgosproect Institute Viktor Skrobot, the muralist, member of the Belarusian Union of Artists Andrei Petkevich, and Director of the National History Museum of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Khramoi in recognition of their efforts to create a museum in the WW2 memorial complex Khatyn.
One of the prizes went to a freelance author of the publishing house Zvyazda Vladimir Likhodedov in recognition of his efforts to create and implement the historical and educational project Fatherland and to author album books.
One of the prizes went to Director General of the cultural institution of Russia’s Krasnodar Territory Kuban Cossack Choir Viktor Zakharchenko in recognition of creation of a series of songs “Belarus”, “Rus”, “Across the rivulet”.
The Union State prizes for literature and art are awarded every two years by the Supreme State Council of the Union State of Belarus and Russia in recognition of creating works of literature and art that make a big contribution to the reinforcement of relations of brotherhood, friendship, and all-round cooperation between Belarus and Russia.
