Year 2016 to be announced Year of Culture in Belarus

Belarus is preparing a draft decree on declaring the year 2016 as the Year of Culture. This initiative was made by the representatives of creative unions and the Ministry of Culture of Belarus. The coming year is the time of important anniversaries in the sphere of culture. These are anniversaries of Maxim Bogdanovich, Vladimir Mulyavin, Ivan Shamyakin and Kondrat Krapiva. It is an anniversary year for the Art Festival Slavic Bazaar which will turn 25. In 2016, the Belarusian art will be popularized, cultural facilities will be opened after restoration, new monuments will be created.
