The Union of Journalists of Russia expresses its full solidarity with Belarusian colleagues in connection with another act of politically motivated censorship by the YouTube platform.

"When the overt and covert owners of such platforms realize that they are losing the open information and ideological competition, they switch to the usual tactics.: not to argue, not to convince, not to compete, but simply to turn off. It's not a strength, it's a weakness. This is not a defense of freedom of speech, it is its demonstrative destruction," the colleagues from the RUJ note.

The Union of Journalists of Russia stressed that such actions should receive a principled assessment not only at the national but also at the international level.
