NATIONAL MEMORY

Thousands of people attended a requiem rally in Brest dedicated to National Remembrance Day for the victims of the Great Patriotic War and the Genocide of the Belarusian people. This Belarusian city has become an eternal symbol of unwavering courage. 85 years ago, at dawn, Nazi Germany, treacherously violating the Non-Aggression Pact, started a war against the Soviet Union. Brest Fortress was one of the first to bear the brunt of the attack.

FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE

The need to join forces for preventing attempts to distort the facts about World War II was discussed at the Union State International Forum "Great Heritage – Common Future" in Brest. The key event was the plenary session. The event held at the initiative of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, was attended by representatives from the CIS countries and friendly states of Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

GENOCIDE OF THE BELARUSIAN PEOPLE
Preserving the memory of the tragedy and stopping any attempts to falsify the events of the Great Patriotic War. For this reason in April 2021 the Prosecutor General of Belarus decided to initiate a criminal case on the facts of the genocide of the Belarusian people committed by Nazi criminals and their accomplices during the war and in the post-war period.

BEIJING'S REACTION

The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs commented on attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on a bus carrying Belarusian children in the Bryansk Oblast. Beijing condemns any attacks on civilians. China calls on all parties involved to facilitate a swift de-escalation of the situation and create conditions for the resumption of direct dialogue and negotiations.
