Lukashenko, Putin talked over phone | A. Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan

A telephone conversation took place between the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. During the call the Heads of State addressed key items on the agenda. They agreed to continue discussing specific issues regarding bilateral cooperation and the international situation when they meet on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Turkmenistan.

Aleksandr Lukashenko will pay a working visit to Turkmenistan on 8-9 October to attend the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. The leaders will discuss cooperation within the framework of the Commonwealth of Independent States. In his address Aleksandr Lukashenko will outline the Belarusian position on key aspects of the CIS's activities, as well as on the potential and future prospects of this international organization.

A meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers is taking place in Turkmenistan. The head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry stated that the Commonwealth has all the prerequisites for its further development and growth.

Focusing on security across the Eurasian continent. Minsk is hosting a major counter-terrorism forum. The President sent a welcoming message to the participants.

Belarusian Ambassador Sergei Malinovsky took part in the grand opening of the international exhibition "For Our Friends" dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the First Serbian-Ottoman War in Belgrade. The exhibition features rare artifacts from the collections of the Mogilev Oblast Museum of Local History and the Krugloe District Museum.
