NEW YEAR'S TRADITIONS 
A bright event of the New Year's week! President Aleksandr Lukashenko met with young Belarusians as part of "Our Children" charity event. Children from all over the country received congratulations on the New Year at the Palace of the Republic. 

RELIABLE DEFENSE 
The Defense Minister announced the deployment of the Oreshnik missile system in Belarus, which arrived in the country as part of the implementation of agreements between the presidents of Belarus and Russia. The Ministry of Defense showed footage of the system taking up combat duty. During a report by the Chairman of the State Security Committee, President Aleksandr Lukashenko instructed to keep all ongoing processes under control in order to ensure reliable security. The Head of State was also informed about the situation on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, including incident with balloons. Despite Vilnius' attempts to turn this issue into a political one, the Belarusian side remains open to constructive cooperation and negotiations. 

BELARUS-MYANMAR 
The Belarusian delegation took part in the observation of the parliamentary elections in Myanmar. The observers visited several polling stations. As the parliamentarians noted, Belarus is interested in the stable sovereign development of Myanmar, and for this it is important to strengthen its state system and avoid political upheaval. 

INTERNATIONAL TRADE 
The President of Belarus has signed laws aimed at developing trade and economic relations with a number of countries. The law on ratification of the economic partnership agreement between the EAEU (Eurasian Economic Union) and the United Arab Emirates was signed. This international agreement is aimed at simplifying mutual trade and developing cooperation. The President also signed a law providing for the ratification of the temporary trade agreement between the EAEU and Mongolia. In addition, a memorandum of understanding between the governments of Belarus and Nigeria on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters was ratified. 

NATURAL TREASURE 
Protecting rare and endangered species of flora and fauna is a task that requires con-stant attention. The fifth edition of the Red Book of Belarus has been published in Minsk.
