REVIVAL OF DAMAGED LANDS 
A model for Polesie, the culture of farming, and the attitude towards migrant workers. The highlight of the past week was Aleksandr Lukashenko's extensive trip to the Gomel Oblast. The President spent several days in the south of the country, examining the economic, agricultural, and social situation. Revitalizing and improving the south of the country has been a long-standing goal of the President. Polesie is the salt of the Belarusian nation and people need to live better there. 

BELARUS-KAZAKHSTAN 
The presidents of Belarus and Kazakhstan held a telephone conversation. Aleksander Lukashenko and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the development of Belarusian-Kazakh relations, noting the rapid growth of contacts at various levels. In the past six months a number of significant bilateral visits have taken place. The presidents also discussed the schedule of upcoming events and visits. The Supreme Eurasian Economic Council and the Eurasian Economic Forum will be held in Astana at the end of May. On the eve of the great shared holiday of Victory Day, the leaders exchanged congratulations. Aleksandr Lukashenko renewed his invitation to his Kazakh counterpart to make an official visit to Belarus. 

DEEPENING COOPERATION WITH CHINA 
Developing and implementing practical solutions for bilateral cooperation. To this end, the Head of the Administration of the President of Belarus visited China. A series of meetings took place, emphasizing that it is under the leadership and support of the leaders of Belarus and China that all-round strategic relations are developing at a high level. As a result, a Memorandum on Deepening Cooperation was signed between the Administration of the President of Belarus and the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. 

CENTRE OF POWER 
The SCO countries agreed to strengthen military cooperation in the field of security. A meeting of defense ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states was held in Bishkek. The head of the Belarusian defense ministry emphasized that over the past years, the organization has become one of the key centres of power in the future multipolar world.
