Population census to be held from October 4 to 30

A month and a half remains before an important nationwide event – the population census. The campaign starts on October 4 and ends on 30. In total, more than 10 thousand census takers will be employed. Each will be issued a tablet with special software. All respondent data will immediately be sent to the Belarusian statistics committee. This method will speed up the survey by a factor of 3. The new thing about the current census is the possibility to partake in the census from anywhere in the world via the Internet. People can also come to a stationary point for a survey at a convenient time. There are 49 questions to answer – about marital status, mother tongue, education and work. The online census will be available from October 4 to 18. The stationary census points will operate till October 30. At the place of residence, respondents will be interviewed from October 21-30.
