Novopolotsk hosts the Union State Spartakiad

District center Novopolotsk is hosting the third stage of the Union State Spartakiad among schoolchildren "Olympic Hopefuls". The program includes competitions in ice hockey, swimming and chess. In each sport, four teams are represented from the Belarusian and Russian sides. The first and second stages took place in Volgograd, Russia. The fourth will take place in Minsk in December. This year the Spartakiad unites more than a thousand young athletes from Belarus and Russia.
