Belarus will host the 45th General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees in November 2016. Prior to the decisive voting day, only two competitors remained: Minsk and Yerevan. Due to the success in holding such major international competitions as the Ice Hockey and Track Cycling World Championships, World Biathlon Championships, European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships and World Cup series, Minsk became the undisputed voting favourite.
