A solemn ceremony of presenting commemorative certificates to those who had donated to the construction of the Trostenets memorial complex took place in Minsk"s Church of All Saints. The charity project started 1.5 years ago, with over 1,000 people having made a material contribution to the construction of the historic complex. Among them are non-governmental organisations, political parties, labour groups from across the country, as well as organisations from Germany and Austria. Together, they have raised 1.2 billion Belarusian rubles and 400,000 euros.June 2015 saw the unveiling of the memorial sculpture The Gates of Memory in the territory of the former death camp. Architectural and construction works are currently underway there. With sufficient funding the construction of the Trostenets memorial complex will be completed next year.
