Sports leaders and Belarusian athletes honored the memory of those who perished during the Great Patriotic war (World war – II). Flowers and wreaths were laid to the stele "Minsk – hero city". Heads of the Belarus’ National Olympic committee, the profile ministry and the Belarusian athletes took part in the ceremony. Every year, new participants join the initiative. Among them are famous sportspeople, coaches, and up-and-coming young athletes.
