Almost 80% of the population of Belarus lives in families

According to the Ministry of Labor of Belarus, almost 80% of the population lives in families. According to the latest census, 44% of families, which is about 1 million, have children under 18. Most of them (57%) have one child. Every third family has two children. And 9.2% have many children. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection has been maintaining an automated information system for recording large families since 2020.
