Comprehensive territorial organisation schemes of the country"s regions and general plans of the satellite cities of Brest, Grodno and Minsk have been approved in accordance with a presidential decree. The document also specifies socio-economic development priorities in certain areas, as well as engineering and transport infrastructure in view of the characteristics of each region.The construction of the satellite towns will be carried out in two stages, which will have been completed by 2020 and 2030 respectively. Smolevichi and Rudensk will be the first towns to be developed. The development of Smolevichi is closely linked to the Chinese-Belarusian Industrial Park, the first stage of which will create about 25,000 jobs. The expansion of Rudensk is connected with the development of the industrial complex and the research and production bases.
